In the HRM e-Leave System, the leave balance for the current year can only be applied within this year by default. If the organization allows employees to apply for leave next year by using their existing leave balance, also known as carry forward leave, the settings can be changed in the HRM e-Leave System. Therefore, if the employee for any reason is unable to take their full leave entitlement of the year, their leave can be carried forward to next year.
In addition to that, the number of carry forward leave to next year can be limited based on the company as it could be costly if an employee has a huge amount of untaken leave. Allowing employees to carry forward leave from one year to another gives them the flexibility to plan for their holidays or any life-changing events. Giving them this freedom results in greater motivation and productivity of the employees.
